THE ART CUBE was a workshop format I conducted during my undergraduate study in the public space. I provided a 2m x 2m big white cube as the foundation for a view hours. The idea was to give participants the explorative freedom to acquire the big cube with some color pencils and create a personal legacy by tracing each others bodies.
As a way of playful exploration the cube needed to be light in weight and tiltable. The participants had the freedom whenever wanted to rotate the cube and start over again. By switching between the pose and the painter each one could assimilate oneself in different roles. During the process I provided the mentoring for their improvisation practise.
The final result was an installation of the colourful cube showcasing the presence of humans. This practise is an intervention in the public space, an act of public and participative art.
